Our mission
The Nazis turned the victims into numbers. We give them back their names.
זכרוןZikaron means “remembrance”
We tell the victims’ stories and their fates, and so restore their memory and their dignity.
We work on the ground in Germany and wherever the Holocaust was carried out, so that every single victim is remembered, and the lessons of what hatred and discrimination lead to are learned.

Each Stolperstein is made by hand and set into the sidewalk in front of the victim’s last chosen home. One stone, one name, one life.

Stolpersteine
Brass plaques in front of the victims’ last homes, each carrying a name and a fate. We place them, read the biographies aloud, and care for them.

We speak in schools and youth centers, and guide young people in hands-on commemoration, so the next generation remembers and understands.
