Elizabeth “Lisi” Block:

Born in 1923 in Bavaria, Elizabeth Block kept a daily journal of her family’s suffering during the Holocaust – until she and they were murdered. Elizabeth’s journals have touched generations. We are honoring Elisabeth’s courage and perceptiveness by creating the Lisi Block Fund.

The Lisi Block Fund

for the education of Germany’s young on the Holocaust, the Stolpersteine and Judaism

Each week, we hold workshops in schools on the Holocaust, the Stolpersteine and Judaism.

Each year, we provide internships to some 50 students. These enable them to create the raps, videos, poems and other items enlisting their peer group in the Holocaust commemoration movement.

The Fund enables this avoda (“mission”), which entails the young’s participation in the placement of the Stolpersteine and the staging of Faces for the Names.

The Lisi Block fund thus ensures that each generation furthers the commemoration of our beloved and murdered family.
