Terry Swartzberg: nine years of wearing a kippa in public

On December 1, 2012, Terry donned a kippa and went out his front door. His goal: to prove to himself that Jews are safe in Germany. Now, 9 years and 3287 days and hundreds of heartwarming and amusing experiences later, Terry’s “kippa experiment” has received signal recognition. The German government’s Museum of German History has made 12 of Terry’s kippot the centerpoint of its new exhibition “Homeland. Sought and found”, which chronicles immigrants’ experiences in Germany. The Museum already has one of Terry’s kippot on permanent exhibition.
